Your Weight Matters Convention Set for Dallas

Your weight does matter. In fact, it has a major impact on your overall health. Obesity, which affects more than 93 million Americans, is associated with preventable deaths and has a role in type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, certain cancers, sleep apnea and arthritis.
The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) now has a forum for you to discuss obesity and get answers to your most important questions. The first Your Weight Matters National Convention will take place Oct. 25-28 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
Educational sessions will be offered on medically managed weight loss, metabolic and bariatric surgery, weight bias, body image issues, childhood obesity, weight plateaus, nutrition, exercise and more.
“One of the most innovative aspects of our convention is that attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a ‘Lunch with the Experts,’ ” said Joe Nadglowski, OAC president and CEO. “During this lunch, attendees will sit one-on-one with a healthcare professional and discuss specific topics, such as food addiction, intimacy issues and weight and more.”
Registration is $95 (before Sept. 12) and includes access to all educational sessions, a T-shirt and canvas tote bag, and tickets to the welcoming ceremonies and awards dinners.
