Invacare’s Mixon Honored for Healthcare Leadership
In June, the Ohio Hospital Association presented Health Care Leadership Awards. A. Malachi “Mal” Mixon III, chairman emeritus of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Board of Trustees and chairman of the board for Invacare, a manufacturer of mobility equipment, was honored.
Mixon was recognized with the Donald R. Newkirk Award, named for the association’s long-time former president. The award goes to people who have made significant lifetime contributions to the healthcare field in Ohio.
One of many achievements is Mixon’s leadership of Invacare since 1979. The home care manufacturer has products in approximately 80 countries.
The Ohio Hospital Association represents 166 hospitals and 16 health systems throughout Ohio.
