Paralympians to Be Honored on Special July Fourth Broadcast

Olympians and Paralympians will get a star-spangled send-off this July Fourth. During “A Capitol Fourth” broadcast, eight-time Olympic medalist speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno will host a tribute to Team USA.

Both present and past U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes will be honored, and Academy Award–winner John Williams will conduct his "Olympic Fanfare and Theme.”

Among the Paralympians to be honored are David Wagner and Nick Taylor who will compete in wheelchair tennis. The pair are doubles partners who won gold medals at the 2004 Summer Paralympics and the 2008 games.

Tune in to “A Capitol Fourth,” airing live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, on 8-9:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, July 4 on PBS.
