Pride, Quantum Rehab Pledge to Fight Lou Gehrig's Disease
Pride Mobility Products and its subsidiary Quantum Rehab, manufacturers of complex rehabilitation products including power chairs and power positioning systems, have joined the ALS Association as national corporate partners, pledging $250,000 to the association’s efforts to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
“It is encouraging to see the business community join us in our effort to help those living with this dreadful disease,” said Jane Gilbert, president and CEO of the ALS Association.
Pride and Quantum Rehab will support the Walk to Defeat ALS, a fundraising event that provides more than $20 million for research, patient and family care services, and public policy efforts.
"Quantum Rehab and Pride Mobility Products are strongly committed to partnering with charities that work to support those impacted by ALS,” said Megan Kutch, MS, OTR, general manager, Quantum Applications & Clinical Development. “Both on the corporate and individual employee levels, we have long maintained a strong involvement in various walks, rides and other events to help raise money to increase awareness and find a cure for ALS. So, when the ALS Association presented us with the opportunity to come on as a national partner in 2012 to help promote ALS awareness across the country, we were exceptionally honored."
