Kids Get Your Pencils Ready: PVA Is Asking for Poster and Essay Contest Submissions
Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) has announced its ninth annual National Veterans Day Poster and Essay Contest. The contest is open to all school-age children, who are asked to express their gratitude for America’s veterans.
This year, participants must show or tell a personal story about a veteran who has made a difference in their lives or hometowns. The poster portion is open to students in grades 1 to 4; the essay contest is open to students in grades 5 to 8.
Winners in each category (two for poster and two for essay) will receive a plaque and a $100 educational gift certificate. In addition, the student’s school will receive a plaque recognizing the student’s honor. Grand prize winners earn an all-expenses–paid trip to Washington, D.C., for Veterans Day celebrations, and the winning essay and poster will be featured in PN, PVA’s national magazine.
Entries are due by Sept. 28, 2012. Click here for details and entry forms.
