Braun Launches BraunTaxi

To better serve the needs of taxi passengers with disabilities, The Braun Corporation has grouped all of its taxi products under a new brand called BraunTaxi. The rebranding is part of the company’s increased efforts to improve taxi accessibility for passengers with disabilities.

“Under the BraunTaxi name, we will continue to find a way for taxi passengers, drivers and medallion owners to have the safe, accessible and reliable transportation they deserve,” said Braun President Nick Gutwein.

In addition to continuing to supply accessible vehicles for taxi fleet throughout the country, Braun will be involved as a mobility provider of the soon-to-be-released Nissan NV200 Taxi of Tomorrow. The conversion of the NV200 is currently in the design phase and is scheduled to premiere in New York in October 2013. Although the official design has not been set, the conversion will include rear entry.

“Drawing on Braun’s innovation and experience in the mobility industry, we will work together to develop, engineer and produce a creative solution for a wheelchair-accessible taxi in New York,” said Joe Castelli, vice president of Commercial Vehicles and Fleet for Nissan North America, of the partnership.
