Paralyzed Veteran Issues Challenge to Talk Show Host Ellen

One fan of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is taking the talk show host up on her offer. A Woodward, Okla.–based veteran with paralysis has dared DeGeneres to dance with him on her show.

Of course, the veteran happens to be Bill Lawson, national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America, who is currently on a month-long tour to raise awareness for issues facing veterans with spinal cord injury and dysfunction and their families.

"I am a huge fan of the show and the support Ellen has shown for our military heroes and veterans,” said Lawson.

“More people need to know that there are no barriers on the dance floor, nor should there be in life, for people with disabilities and those of us who use a wheelchair every day."

April is Paralyzed Veterans Awareness Month.
