Users First Joins Forces With United Spinal

Users First Alliance has joined United Spinal Association and will now be a United Spinal program known as Users First.

Ann Eubank, LMSW, OTR/L, ATP, the executive director of Users First, will continue to lead that effort. She has also been named VP of community initiatives for United Spinal.

Users First was formed in 2007 and attained 501 c3 – i.e., non-profit membership organization – status late last year. Its focus is “uniting and strengthening the voice of mobility device consumers, such as wheelchair users,” according to a news release.

“By combining our resources, we are now in position to spark change in the long-established ‘one-size-fits-all’ mentality when it comes to mobility equipment,” said United Spinal CEO/President Paul J. Tobin in the news announcement.

Eubank said, “With United Spinal Association’s legacy and strong programs that infuse our community’s efforts, from grassroots initiatives and community building to legislative issues, we can offer people with disabilities comprehensive support and community resources on a national level never seen before.”

Users First’s membership comprises seating and mobility technology users, clinicians, providers, equipment manufacturers, caregivers and other stakeholders.
